Ogni Speranza

hardcover publication, 20 x 27 cm
2022

Ogni Speranza is a publication in form of a visual research around the vision of hell depicted in Dante Aligheri’s infamous ‘Divine Comedy’. Through questioning how this idea of hell translates centuries later, I created a publication that combined motives representative of the epoch’s icons and miniatures with elements representative of contemporary aesthetics. The book is split into 9 parts, each representing another circle of the inferno, and preceded with an introduction. The majority of the visualizations are AI-generated representing the current ‘creator’ status of our reality. The title ‘Ogni Speranza’ refers to the sentence Dante encounters at the entry to the gates of Hell, meaning ‘All Hope’.

From Wings to Closed Eyes

hand-bound publication, bleached linen hardcover
2021

‘From wings to closed eyes’ is a publication in form of a visual story of a little girl exploring the journey through reality into the realm of dreams. The book illustrates the thin line between what is real and what’s imagined. Based on found image and family archives, it combines elements common in children’s books, such as hidden images and unfoldable elements that add a sense of playfulness to the whole. The design combines elements of a family album with infantile aesthetics like child’s handwriting, paper cutouts and play. It uses japanese binding and a bleached linen hardcover refering to the slumber state.
